A $900,000 settlement with Paycom resolves claims that the company failed to protect its customers’ personally identifiable information from a data breach. The agreement of the Paycom Class Action benefits all living persons who reside in the United States and whose personal information was accessed or stolen in the data breach and who Paycom communicated about the incident between July and October 2023.

Under the terms of the agreement with Paycom, group members have two options, which are to receive cash refunds and credit monitoring or an alternative cash benefit. Class members who were impacted with documented out-of-pocket losses related to the data breach can claim up to $2,500 per person.
They can also make a claim for up to four hours of time spent addressing identity theft or fraud, including misuse of personal and sensitive information, credit monitoring, credit report freezes, or other data breach-related issues, at $25 per hour for a total of $100 per person. This is included in the maximum of $2,500 per person. The group members of this Class Action, They can also submit a claim for reimbursement of documented losses resulting from fraud or identity theft related to the data breach, up to $4,200 per person, as well as a claim for three years of credit monitoring services.
